The Corruption of Alder Glen" is a folk horror adventure that takes place in a small, close-knit town with a strange relationship to their trees. Characters have the chance to get to know the town and its inhabitants while they unravel the mystery of the gravedirt alder and decide how best to save the townsfolk — and themselves. This 5th edition compatible adventure was written for a party of four to six 4th level characters. By the end of the adventure, characters should reach 6th level. The adventure sees the characters pass through the modest town of Alder Glen and witness a bizarre wild animal attack. When they are asked to get to the bottom of these escalating attacks, they uncover a centuries-old bargain with the creatures of the wood. The widow Blanche, Lady of Alder Glen, and her daughter Ingrid disagree on how best to protect the people in their charge. As the wood encroaches, they’re running out of time to decide.

This week’s encounter is Coral Colosseum, a combat encounter in which the characters must prove themselves as worthy gladiators to escape the clutches of a ruthless sahuagin baron. This encounter can serve as a follow-up to Encounter of the Week: Sharkfin Shipwreck, or as a stand-alone mini-adventure. It could also serve as an introduction to Ghosts of Saltmarsh, which releases on May 21st, 2019.

Mare Vinceret has kept the underwater city of Conatha thriving for centuries. Deep within the Greyspace lurks a force so strong that it could impede their progress toward peace. It dwells in a place beyond where they would ever choose to go, filled with dark aquatic life and a menacing presence that no one could match. Juliya Alastor, the leader of Mare Vinceret, sends her best to dispose of the threat known only as Biandra, the Hag of Conatha (sea hag). The Hag of Conatha seeks to fix what Mare Vinceret has done to the beautiful land that she sees as corruption in disguise, then live in peace. Biandra has taken their forgotten structure and made it her own. She sits within a threedomed greenhouse with walls blanketed by vines of kelp and seaweed and swimming with deadly aquatic creatures. Within the dark, polluted lair, Juliya's team falls into madness. One by one, Biandra's hallucinatory tricks destroy them, leaving each of them within her grasp. Believing all is lost, Juliya finds a glimmer of hope in a crackled communication one of the members of the party must be alive. She must send out one more group of brave adventurers to bring down Biandra for good and reclaim the underwater dome. This adventure was originally designed as an AD&D scenario and run at GenCon XIV Convention. However, due to copyright reasons, it was published in "Adventure Gaming" as a generic adventure, suitable for any fantasy RPG. Your homeland, the small, but happy and prosperous country of Bel-Vedere, has been attacked by insidious black sorcery. All of the country's wise men and mages have failed to block the attack, which has taken the form of mass confusion, fear, and frightening illusions. After studying ancient manuscripts, the mages determined that Bel-Vedere's only salvation lay in their obtaining an artifact called the "Pyramid of Light". A plea for adventurers to undertake the quest to locate this artifact was issued, and you ten were chosen from those responding. A torn parchment, found with the manuscript which told of the Pyramid, bears a map to the temple, which is the legendary home of the artifact. The parchment also contained the enigmatic phrase "Three keys only will open the door to enlightenment". Equipped by the mages, your party has followed the ancient map for 20 days, through the southern wastelands, stopping at the oases marked. Mid-morning of the 21st day, you come upon a huge, pyramid-shaped structure nestled between sand dunes. Approaching it slowly, your adventure begins...
Martin's Fortune is a short classic horror quest that can be easily put in any (low) fantasy setting. This adventure scenario features a dark and trilling backstory and several handouts for your players. The quest is very much in the horror element and there are advices on how to approach the horror scenes. Adventure Synopsis: Martin Wesley, decedent of a faithful servant of Lord Amren Stieber recruits the players to pillage the Lord's lost tomb. Searching for the tomb reveals that forgotten history leaves its traces to this very day. The forest around Amren's resting place is cursed and veiled in darkness. When the party finally arrives to the Lord's tomb, they discover that it is something more - a jailhouse. Their prize will have to be earned in blood. The door to the Abyss can be opened with good intentions. An act of mercy released a creature of unspeakable evil. Now, only you have a chance to stop it. A vrock has been trapped inside a stone circle outside the village of Sundown. This stone circle remained untouched for thousands of years, until an unwitting mage decided to depetrify one of the standing stones that he mistakenly thought was a helpless farmer. This released the vrock, who killed the mage and has been trying to regain enough power to plane shift back to its home. This module primarily is based on investigation and problem solving, with a final fight with the vrock at the end. Roleplaying should be emphasized. A bizarre journey into the realm of sleep. A casual visit to a living, nightmare theater. The King sends the party to speak to the Oracle, a Titan named Andromicus and ask about the fate of the kingdom. But the titan is asleep and sleeping he draws the heroes into his dream! This very weird adventure imagines the titan is dreaming three different five act plays whose stories intertwine and intermix randomly. The heroes find themselves in a random act of a random play and must "solve" the central tension of the act to put the Titan's mind at ease and move on to the next Act. Once they solved five different acts (which may happen out of order and each be from different stories) they exit the dream and the Titan wakes, allowing the players to ask the Titan Oracle a question. Some acts are short roleplaying encounters, some are full on combat scenarios. While the players can earn experience, and might get some cash, any magic items they find are illusory! A unique adventure with a lot of promise for an open-minded DM. Seems very like a classic Star Trek episode and in fact follows many of the same rules about Gods and Dreams. Pgs. 5-15
