When a Thayan research expedition returns from the Glacier of the White Wyrm with only two survivors that are reduced to whispering about an ancient pyramid under the ice, perhaps it is time to discover just what scares the life out of a nation of necromancers. The events of DDEP2 Mulmaster Undone resulted in terrible geographic upheaval all around the southeastern region of the Moonsea. Massive landslides, earthquakes, tidal waves, and gnashing tornados devastated the land and the city of Mulmaster was nearly scrubbed from the face of Faerun. Fortunately, these events also revealed previously hidden artifacts—trinkets, mostly—from the ancient Netherese all around the city. The Thayans have long held an interest in the port city and wasted no time in assisting in the rebuilding efforts. They simply asked that a blind eye be turned to their archaeological interests, and in return they would continue to spend their own resources (at no expense to the Mulmasterites or even the High Blade) to rebuild the city, bigger and better than before. It wasn’t long before their interests paid off with the discovery of a research laboratory beneath the Glacier of the White Worm, far to the east of Mulmaster and nestled in the mountains. The Thayans sent a sizable expeditionary force but only two acolytes returned. The visiting Zulkir has found this particularly troublesome, and with the assistance of Rastol Shan, the head of the Cloaks, has arranged for a mercenary force to perform a more pointed investigation of the area. In return the Thayan noble has promised significant compensation. Upon arrival at the dig site, the characters are quick to discover that the laboratory hides ancient and palpable evil. The purpose of the facility can be discerned with careful investigation, and the effect of the still-active fragment of the Dark Obelisk has empowered (some may say attracted) servants of the Worm that Walks. Danger and death await, certainly, though the characters always have the option of running away and living to fight another day…
Under the Flooded Forest grows a toxic maze of magical fungi called the Nidus. The Eye of the Storm is a tower storming adventure for parties of 3 to 7 adventurers from 8th to 12th level. It takes around 6 hours to play and is designed to fit into any campaign that needs a wizard in tower. In this adventure the party are tasked with stopping the storm obsessed wizard, Atonitus, from completing his ritual to become a living storm. Atonitus' ritual is causing dangerous elemental storms in the area surrounding his tower, causing death and destruction in nearby settlements. A pair of Cyclopes, Pameen and Mezrah, have been tricked into doing his bidding too. The siblings have been raiding passing caravans, local settlements, and travellers for all the metal they can carry. Featuring a maze of interconnected rooms, puzzles, a rather annoyed Yugoloth, and the new Ice Para-Elemental monster, this adventure is perfect if you want a dungeon crawl or something a little more social.

The party seeks out Commodore Krux at the Happy Beholder. After speaking with the patrons, the party learns that Krux has disappeared and gets a lead to check out his ship, the Second Wind. At the ship, the party learns from Fel Ardra and Flinch that Krux is being held prisoner by the Amoebros in a cave on the underside of the Rock of Bral. The party infiltrates the Amoebros’ lair, gets past the guards, and learns of the animal experimentation performed by the gang. In a final climactic scene, the party rescues Krux from Ripples, the wicked boss of the plasmoid gang.

The adventurers come across the campsite of a traveling carnival. The carnival-master is a beautiful and seductive tiefling named Synn. She asks the travelers to stay for dinner and watch the show. The entertainment is amazing and wonderful… up until the point that the act turns real. Suddenly, the party finds themselves immersed in a nightmare. Even if the protagonists survive, the unfortunate souls could be forever trapped in the cursed realm of Ravenloft. A 4-6 hour adventure for a party of 4-6 players of 3rd level.
