The loggers of the West Wood have been logging these lands for over five years without a problem. A horror themed investigation of an abandoned village in the Moonshae Isles. Players will investigate an empty village haunted by skulks, who are invisible unless viewed through a mirror. The boss is a sorcerer trying to free the souls of the transformed villagers, but he fails and transforms into an Allip. In the end, the adventurers may attempt to finish his work. Along the way they encounter his mother, an elven warrior who may join them, and fight a few lycanthropes.

This adventure is designed as a side quest that can be inserted into an ongoing adventure or campaign. It involves a series of three linking scenes (and an optional fourth research scene between the others) that can be placed in between the action of whatever other event the party is undertaking. A short mystery adventure with only two combat encounters: An archfey has placed a curse on a small hamlet, putting all the adults to sleep. The PCs must talk to the children to learn what's going on. When they get too close to figuring it out, boggles attack. Eventually the PCs realise they have to compose a short verse of poetry to wake the adults. When they do, an avatar of the archfey attacks in one last attempt to stop the PCs.

The village of Hillthorpe has been under the "protection" of a rough sleeping stranger. The extortion began with demands for a bushel of wheat or a basket of apples, accompanied by threats of rats and mice being sent to ravage the sick and sleeping, and to ruin the stores. Over time, the demands escalated, reaching the point where the village could no longer afford to pay without starving to death over winter (3 sacks of grain, a barrel of ale, and all the ripe cheese you have each week!). As a result, the village is seeking outside help.
