Protagonists can expect to earn up to 12 victories across the course of the adventure. Because The Condemned involves a team of original heroes, and does not take place within the continuity of your normal home campaign, players are encouraged to create new (villains) protagonists just for this adventure. We also include a healthy variety of original pre-generated characters with unique and interesting backstories. Put them in front of your players and watch them get excited! The Bale Crossing is a short adventure for Draw Steel. It takes about four hours to complete and is designed for 3 to 6 2nd-level heroes. It places the heroes at the center of a cat-and-mouse game between House Vorona and the agents of Ajax on a voyage across the Bale Sea. Directors can use this adventure either as a follow-up to The Fall of Blackbottom or as a drop-in scenario in a larger story featuring the power struggle between factions in Capital, Ajax's war of conquest, or war dogs. The adventure features advice for skipping straight to the action in a hot start, an optional negotiation, three possible montage tests, and a dynamic final combat with guidance for running the encounter as a stealth mission or a boarding action across the decks of two ships. If they succeed, heroes will earn 2 to 7 Victories.
The Fall of Blackbottom is an adventure for the Draw Steel roleplaying game for 1st-level heroes. It’s intended for four to six players, including the Director. This fast-paced, high-stakes adventure assumes that players have moderate experience with the Draw Steel system and the game’s core rulebooks. The Fall of Blackbottom begins on a calm morning at the Drunken Fool, a three-story inn renowned for its baths and jaunty atmosphere. When Ajax’s siege plunges the city into chaos, the heroes are instructed by a member of the Chain of Acheron to lead civilians to a safehouse where the Chain will regroup and help the helpless flee the city. When the heroes arrive at the safehouse, however, it becomes clear that no one is coming to help. What’s more, one or more of them are wanted by Ajax, known to the Overlord by name. War Dogs in the Woods is an adventure that scales between 4 to 6 first-level characters. There are three combat encounters and one skill montage, yielding up to four victories. The antagonists are a group of War Dogs preparing to assault a town. It can work as the kickoff for a War Dogs focused campaign, or to inject a little variety into an existing campaign. During a respite at an inn, a man barges in, declaring: ‘I found another one.’ It’s the latest instance of dismembered bodies in the woods. The townspeople ask the heroes to investigate what they think is a pack of dark wolves assaulting travelers. An examination of the site reveals dark wolf tracks, but also a new trail leading into the woods. During the first encounter in the woods, several unknown contacts, represented by “blips,” advance towards the heroes, and are eventually revealed as War Dogs. The heroes learn the War Dogs are part of a camp gathering to assault the town. From there, the heroes journey deeper into the forests, eventually finding and destroying the War Dog camp.
“A Prisoner’s Escort” is a 2nd-level (1st echelon) quest written for the Draw Steel role-playing game by MCDM. It can act as a bridge between major adventures, or on its own. This adventure has about 7 scenes, with around 5 victories, and can probably be run in about one or two typical 3-hour gaming sessions.
