The Pumpkin Hag is built around halloween themes: plumbing the deapths of a giant pumpkin, fighting scarecrows and "Mum"sters, and a shapeshifting hag. Bad Fruul and his minions have been threatening to overtake the town of Parnast for some time, and intelligence provided by Seer (via Hsing) confirms that an attack is imminent. Despite this, the town is at risk from within as internal politics threaten to tear it apart. It is up to the adventurers to resolve the infighting in Parnast and prepare the town for the hill giant's onslaught.
Cruel Summer expands on the summer arc of Waterdeep: Dragon Heist, adding two new factions, several colorful new NPCs and four new mapped locations. After the Cassalanter's Founders' Day celebration ends in death and destruction, their twin children are found to be missing. Waterdeep is in an uproar, the Cassalanters aren't talking and it falls to the party to solve the mystery of the childrens disappearance. Could it be connected to the sinister new faction taking root in the city? Who is the stranger whose corpse was left behind in the twins' bedroom? Is there a link to the surprisingly vicious Noble Council of Soapmakers? With this supplement, the PCs will have a chance to save the Cassalanter children from the terrible fate outlined in Dragon Heist, avoiding the "Trolley Dilemma" situation some players might not enjoy. The Dread tunnels of Ruxbar were created by a cult of a lesser evil deity of the giant pantheon, known as Jargain to serve as a planar gate in hope of bringing chaos and destruction to the natural order of the world and power to the one who would control the gate. Carla is a would-be witch came in contact with a gulabus (a demon of gluttony), she made a pact with the fiend, hoping that it could help Mortimer (a villager she felt sorry for) win the pie contest.
