Condemned to death! You are a criminal in the Cauldron, a maximum security prison in the city of Capital. Only the worst criminals are kept here, and you are the worst of the worst. You’re due to be hanged tomorrow, but you were taken out of your cell today, fitted with a collar that looks an awful lot like a war dog collar, and taken to meet a mysterious figure. He offers you a deal. Undertake a top secret mission in exchange for your freedom. Your record, even your identity deleted if that’s what you want. The only catch? IT’S SUICIDE. Misbehave? And you’ll find out what those collars do. The Condemned is a Draw Steel adventure for 3rd-level heroes. Actually, no, for 3rd-level protagonists! Designed for three to six players, plus the director. This fast-paced, high-stakes adventure assumes the players have moderate experience with the Draw Steel system and the game’s core rulebooks. Protagonists can expect to earn up to 12 victories across the course of the adventure. Because The Condemned involves a team of original heroes, and does not take place within the continuity of your normal home campaign, players are encouraged to create new (villains) protagonists just for this adventure. We also include a healthy variety of original pre-generated characters with unique and interesting backstories. Put them in front of your players and watch them get excited! They may want to keep playing them once the adventure is through. Assuming they survive!

A few know blood can be a priceless treasure in and of itself. Alchemy has long used the lifeblood of monstrosities as arcane fuel, and of all the legendary beasts, the blood of the gorgon holds the most secrets. Few know the blood's darkest lore, its ability to draw out the monster within every soul. Those who drink gorgon's blood are forever changed, and the darkest horrors of their mind unleashed. The heroes hunt a deadly murderer who stalks the streets of the Free City of Zobeck after nightfall, and cross blades with a guild of monsters who rule the city from below. A political wedding is threatening a major source of income for the Thieves Guild Ebonclad. Ebonclad would like to see the affair disrupted and the couple never wed. Such a job may be risky, and its outcome could very well start a war if done poorly or without subtlety. That’s why a team of promising agents has been assigned to handle it. The mission’s goal is to disrupt the upcoming wedding of Camilla Swain and Le’Nal Beshiin, to ensure Ebonclad keeps a revenue stream open that their marriage would surely close. The caveat is, neither the bride nor the groom are to be harmed. This will mean the party will have to come up with a method to disrupt the wedding as it’s happening, while avoiding suspicion. As a bonus, the party members can rob wealthy guests or steal wedding presents. The mission is open-ended, giving the players full reign to decide how they will work towards a successful outcome. It lets you work to guide player decisions based on the information presented here, or improvise results based on the players’ actions.

In addition to his own sagely interest in the lore of lost Uvaeren, Imani recognizes the dangers of such powerful magic falling into evil hands. The dracolich has secured the staff in his lair’s cen- tral chamber, using ancient wards of protection that can be bypassed only by four artifact-idols once belong- ing to a cult of Bhaal. Each group of adventurers enters the dungeon through a different section of the dun- geon—a forgotten temple of Bhaal, a vast underground lake, a troglodyte village, or Dretchroyaster’s vaults. Dretchroyaster’s lair is no simple set of caverns and ancient ruins. It sits atop a source of great power and energy, which the dracolich and his Cult of the Dragon allies hope to use to unlock the secrets of the staff. Only by undertaking a unified assault against Dretchroyas- ter’s lair can the adventurers hope to recover the Diamond Staff and survive the dracolich’s fury. The adventurers must make their way through the lair and recover the Bhaalite idols that will help unlock the Diamond Staff, all the while dealing with the lair’s creatures and avoiding the dracolich as he pur- sues intruders. Entering the Chamber of the Diamond Staff, the heroes must overcome its magical wards and claim the staff before being slain by the dracolich and his servants.
